There was a meeting last week
As you may have guessed by now, I did not attend. Looks like the general apathy that runs rampant through the local has finally caught up with me.
Anyway, I did hear there were 35 fitters and 10 welders on the bench. This is a big surprise because the month before they were talking about full employment being just around the corner. Did not hear the plumber report or how many apprentices were off.
The instructor training is going on this week in Michigan… not sure how many went.
The code updates are going on now. Pretty sure they will be having regular update classes for the next few months. Be sure and get signed up and get it over with.
What else? I think that’s all I got today.

what code are we going with 2009? seems like we adopt the new code book every 3 years.
Just out of curiosity is there a new code book every year?
The code is updated every three years… which explains the feeling you get that it is updated every three years
Wow it seems like it is every 2 years though doesn’t it?
That was the National Electrical Code 2008 I saw. The 1996 International Mechanical Code is as far back as I remember. The journeyman’s test in 1996 had a 70% fail rate.
Did anyone on here get to grandfather in with a journeyman’s license?
or 3 years, seems like its too often though, I dread going back to the apprenticeship school to do that for 3 nights. I may find a place to do it all on one saturday
Yeah that slacker Gizzard did… everything he’s got has been handed to him on a silver platter. Oh well, guess that goes hand in hand with being a wealthy republican elitist.
Yes Igot to grandfarther in,but shortly there after I had to move out of state due to wife being in the navy. When it came time to renew the license i forgot and was never sent a letter telling me it was time to renew. So Ihad to take the test to get a new license.when i came back to OKC.
which i think is a crock of bs.I have worked in four or five different states and they didn’t require a state license. When the license started our B.M. at the time said it would be a good deal for us,cause non unoin contractors would have a hard time getting people who could pass the test.
Non union contractors are getting people and they are paying them to take the test and paying for their license and test fees. which in our case we have to pay for it out of our pockets.
thanks for update on the meeting. So of all people that didn’t go never in my wildest dream i thought it would be you.Calling some of us brothers slackers seems to fit you this week.lol
I only had my mechanical and welding license checked one time since i started.I think its just a way for oklahoma to get more money .
